SymptoGut Study

This study is to investigate whether a combination of (poly)phenols and probiotics will improve mood, anxiety and other menopausal symptoms for postmenopausal women via a gut microbiota related mechanism. We will conduct a double-blind randomized crossover study with 15 postmenopausal women to test the effects of 8+8 weeks daily consumption of a combination of a (poly)phenol supplement and a probiotic supplement.
Requirements
- Female
- Age above 48 years old
- Current in post-menopausal status, no menstruation cycle for more than 1-year
- No clinical signs or symptoms of cardiovascular disease
- Not in a weight loss programme
- Not receiving drug treatment for lipid metabolisms or taking long-term use of medicine known to influence glucose metabolism (e.g., corticosteroids)
- Not taking antibiotics or bacterial agents (Probiotics) within 1 month
- No diabetes mellitus
- Not allergy to soy and diary product
- Need to have mobile phone or laptop
